A Twilight TV Series Is Reportedly in the Works Celeb Secrets

A television series based on Stephenie Meyers four-part novel series is apparently in development, more than ten years after the dramatic end of the Twilight saga movie adaptations. The Hollywood Reporter claims that Lionsgate Television is in the early phases of development for the new series.

A television series based on Stephenie Meyer‘s four-part novel series is apparently in development, more than ten years after the dramatic end of the Twilight saga movie adaptations. The Hollywood Reporter claims that Lionsgate Television is in the early phases of development for the new series.

The site reported that the series is in its infancy, so the timing of when we should anticipate digging our teeth into the new iteration is still up in the air. As for a potential network for the show, the suspenseful specifics have not been finalized quite yet. Meyer, though, is anticipated to participate in the project.

But what we can confirm is that the Twilight’s script will be written by Sinead Daly, whose previous work includes Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, The Get Down, Raised by Wolves, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and Tell Me Lies.

Reps for Lionsgate have yet to make a comment about further details.

The jarring information comes nearly 15 years after the release of the first movie, which starred Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, in 2008. Four sequels, including New Moon (2009), Eclipse (2010), Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011), and the 2012 conclusion, Breaking Dawn – Part 2, quickly followed the original, breaking box office records.

It also comes six years after Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer made a suggestion that there might be more in the Twilight universe, but only with Meyer’s approval.

“There are a lot more stories to be told,” he said at the time, per Variety. “And we’re ready to tell them when our creators are ready to tell those stories.”

I guess it’s time for another yearly Twilight Saga marathon and dealing with the debate of whether we’re Team Edward or Team Jacob this time around!
