However, there have been so many times where we watch one of our favorite beauty or DIY channels and wondered where they got their products. Sometimes the people in the videos may include the links, but not all of the time. However, with dubdub, you can always get the direct link to the products as they pop up on the screen! Not only that, but you can also create videos yourself!

What exactly is dubdub?

Dubdub is a mobile video creation platform that allows its users to create shoppable videos by using its two new apps, dubsuite and dubcandy. Through those apps, users can create videos and tag products mentioned in the video to direct their viewers on where to buy them.

How does it work?

With dubsuite, users can shoot and edit their own videos just by using their phone. They can customize their video by adding different texts, images, and rights-free music. Users can then upload their videos to dubcandy, where they can tag up to 5 products mentioned or used in their video via “dubcandies”. When viewers click on the dubcandies, they are directed to a retail site to buy the product. Through that trackable link, video creators earn affiliate revenue from traffic to the retail site (such as Amazon) and purchases of the product. Creators also gain access to valuable customer experience data from dubcandies including a customer’s click through, attribution, intent, and other purchases.

Users can then share their videos on social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

Why should I download it?

The app makes shopping completely interactive! As you see a product, the link to buy it pops up directly on the screen as the person talks about it. This is very different than when you watch a video and the YouTuber simply includes a link in the description.

What else should I know about it?

The application’s headquarters is located in Toronto, but has now expanded to include offices in Montreal and New York. The addition of dubsuite and dubcandy comes just as the app launches in the United States.

Also, you don’t have to make videos to buy the products. That is what is amazing about the application, you can either be a creator, a viewer, or both!
