The actor Kevin Bacon has been a continuous presence on our cinema and television screens for over 40 years, but has he had the time to raise a family in between all the filming?
Kevin Bacon and his wife Kyra Sedgwick have two adult children. Their son, actor and musician Travis Sedgwick Bacon was born in 1989 and their daughter, actress Sosie Ruth Bacon was born in 1992.

Travis Sedgwick Bacon
Travis Bacon is the elder of the two Bacon children and was born on June 23, 1989, just over nine months after the marriage of his parents.
Travis initially began to follow in the footsteps of his actor parents by starring alongside them both in the 2005 film Loverboy, which his father also directed. However, he eventually chose to pursue a career as a musician instead.
After graduating from High School, Travis attended Evergreen State College, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Audio Engineering.
Travis has since worked as a Sound Engineer at a number of venues in New York. He also owns his own record company, Broken Box Records.
Travis has composed music for a number of films, including the TV movie Story of a Girl, which was directed by his mother and starred both his father and sister.
Travis has been a member of the heavy metal band Black Anvil since 2016, in which he plays guitar.
Sosie Ruth Bacon
Sosie Bacon was born on March 15, 1992, so is three years younger than her older brother, Travis.
Sosie was born shortly after her mother finished filming Miss Rose White and is named after the film’s art director, Sosie Hublitz.
Sosie, like her brother, also followed in her parents’ footsteps by starring in Loverboy as a child. However, unlike her brother, she decided to stick with acting and is now an accomplished actress in her own right.
In 2009, Sosie appeared in four episodes of her mother’s television series The Closer. She has since appeared in a number of films and television shows, including the popular Netflix shows The Last Summer and 13 Reasons Why.
Although Kevin Bacon wasn’t initially very keen on the idea of his daughter becoming an actress, he shared in an interview with Closer Weekly that he enjoys talking to her about acting, saying “it’s cool because we have this new line of communication”.
The Bacon Family
Kevin Bacon shared his thoughts on fatherhood in the same interview with Closer Weekly, saying “the proudest accomplishment of my life is my children”.
Kevin has also disclosed that he and his wife weren’t very authoritative with their children when they were younger and rarely told them what to do. Kevin added that his children were very independent, with Travis even refusing to let his father teach him how to swim or ride a bicycle.
Interestingly, Kevin revealed in an interview with Us Weekly that despite casting his children in Loverboy, he and his wife actually discouraged them to become actors because they didn’t want their children to have to deal with the rejection and judgement associated with the acting industry.
All four members of the Bacon family have the same tattoo composed of each of their initials. Sedgwick originally suggested that they get matching tattoos as a joke on a night out together, but the rest of the family liked the idea so much that they decided to do it a few years later.

So it seems that in addition to a very successful marriage of over 30 years, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have also succeeded in raising two children, both with promising careers in their respective industries.
