The Oklahoma City Thunder's shooting guard, Josh Giddey, has been embroiled in a scandal claiming he has been in a relationship with a girl said to be as young has had its latest development as reports suggest it was a one night stand.

Giddey, in the reports, was unaware of her age when they hooked up and upon learning that she was not 19 the following day, immediately terminated their link together, as per "Code Sports".

Damning videos suggest Josh Giddey maintained a sexual relationship with an underage girl

The girl is said to have gained access to a night club that only admits over 18s according to The New York Post, so in this scenario it would be Giddey's reasonable expectation for her to have been an adult instead of a minor.

Giddey is yet to address the allegations nor has he confirmed his relationship with the girl at the time of writing. Importantly, at this stage these are just allegations with nothing proven.

Giddey is under investigation by both the NBA and the Newport Beach Police Department in California, where the age of consent is 18 years old unlike Oklahoma (where the incident happened) which has an age of 16.

Giddey's Thunder underwhelming vs Lakers

To make a bad week worse, Giddey was on the court as his Thunder outfit were dismantled 133-110 by LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers side on Friday, December 1.

James continued his fine form as he put up 21 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in 35 minutes of action which is consistent with his season averages as the Lakers bid to reach the NBA Finals this campaign.

Giddey, meanwhile, posted 14 points, seven rebounds and one assist in the loss for his highest points haul of the 2023/24 season but he could do little to stop the 2020 NBA Champions from heading to victory.

The Thunder now hold a 12-6 record in the Western Conference and they will face Luka Doncic's Dallas Mavericks on December 2 at the American Airlines Center to look to claim their latest win in pursuit of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
